DTPicker, how can I convert a Date to this format?

Using VB6, I have a program in which a User enters a Date via DTPicker.
VB6 appears to then convert this to a strange thing like €3â before saving in a File.

How can I convert a normal date into this format to be used when Importing data from an external source?
