vb6 (CHAT CLIENT ) + connection with mysql database project how to

hi all , my new project i wish to make is a chat client using a mysql database , i understand how to make a chatclient using winsock ip to ip , but now i want to learn something new .


how do i create a chat client with mysql then user database etc ect a start will be big help thanks guys.

looked on google not much info ,only for vb.net:(
