Hi, Im new here, I hope that isnt a problem...
So essentially we have to create a program (Consisting of writing and reading data) for our class in college. My program is desgined for teachers who want to enter homework grades/effort grades for each student they teach. So i have managed to put in a form which saves a number of details (Forename, surname, tutor group, class, and year group) to a text file. I then want to add to this file week on week (depending on when homework is completed) to add to their 'record'. Hence i can view the record on any point using a view form. My teacher has point blankly stated I cannot use a database (after reading various forums here, it seems that that is the most logical solution) so Im unsure of what to do. Any ideas?! I am currently using a single notepad file to save all the files..
Also, i would like to be able to search those records (once i have saved them) using a form. Ie; a form that searches for the students class, and shows every student in that class, but can also search a forename, and pick up those students AND be able to search by two or more criteria. Ie; surname and forename. Or Year group and surname.
