Is there a simple way to delete all textfiles in a directory, but keep the directory?

Hi there everyone! I am working on a prog to save students work for later review. Basically all of their work is saved in text files in a folder called studentwork. I was wondering if after a while if there was a simple way to delete all of the files in the directory, but keep the directory. The only thing in the directory would be text files.
