How can I play sound from an integer array?

I have sound in a signed long integer array. Each integer is one sound sample. I want to be able to hear the sound from one index value to another. I also want to control the playback rate so that sounds at up to 100 kHz can be played back in the audio frequency range. I have found lots of information on how to play sound from a file but nothing on how to play it from an array. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
